Welcome to Anikira, an Intermediate wolf roleplay. Here, we emphasize working towards Advanced roleplaying and just overall fun. If you need any help, feel free to PM Xinelil, the Admin.
Please be sure to post your wolf's biography within the first week of joining. Any accounts that have not notified Xinelil or another staff member and do not post their biography will be deleted to keep the member count accurate and clear.
4.20.08 - This is the LAST day for the activity check. If you don't post your characters by 10:00 PM CST, they will be killed. Also, I'd like to announce that due to the lack of interest in the plot, it was ended. I'm opening up Kamari for claiming. However, this pack will not be on first come, first serve basis. Any wolf can fight for the claim. The winner will be decided among the wolves. If no decision is made, the decision will fall to the staff. Read more of the rules on the OOC board!

3.31.08 - Alright, I've got a little bit of news. First off, I'm really stressed out and need a bit of a break. So, to make sure that there are no problems during my absence, I'd like to introduce the new Co-Admin, Silver! I'm taking a break for a bit, and I wanted to make sure the site is in good hands. Xin, Abyss, Ithyph, and Ardemu will all be extremely inactive in my absence (obviously) lol. I'm not sure how long it'll be before I'm up to this again, but I want to make sure the site is taken care of. Thanks everyone!

3.16.08 - Yay, another update! I decided to push back the ending date of the plot a little bit due to a bit of slow movement in posting. The new date for the plot to end is April 20th. This will give three weeks more for the plot, as it took a while to get it rolling. Sorry for the delays!

3.13.08 - Well, as you all can obviously see, I redid the layout of the site. Hope you all like it! Also, there is an activity check going on. Click Here for the thread. Make sure to post before the 21st!

3.05.08 - Happy March everyone! The season is changed to spring, and the temperatures in pack lands will gradually be increasing. I raised the total character limit up to five. Enjoy!
- Xinelil -
2.23.08 - I added a couple new wolf breeds to the list. Maned Wolves, Iranian Wolves, and Eastern Timber Wolves are now available. Feel free to suggest ideas for new breeds; I will update them every once in a while. I'm out of town this weekend, so I may not be on as much as usual. However, I should be checking in every once in a while.

2.18.08 - Alright, I decided to redo how I do this. Both Silver and I can post here. Anyways, I cut down the moderator appointments to one, and decided to appoint Denali. Congratulations to Anikira's newest moderator! Den, you can go ahead and fill out the staff sheet thing; all your accounts have been moderatorized.

History
The humans of planet Earth had long lived in harmony with mother nature. However, in the past hundred years, things had been different. The humans no longer respected animals, and many of the species were restless. A group of wolves searched the land masses for some way to get away from the human menace. The year 1960 was upon them...
They found their solution near the coast of Africa. Over hundreds of years, somehow unseen by humans, continuous volcanic activity formed a new land mass. This area had become a utopia over the years, and the animals realized that this might just be their chance to get away. They swam from the coast, drawing further and further away until they could no longer see the mainland. They finally reached the sandy beaches of a new continent. This area, for now unknown by humans, was exactly what they had been searching for. The animals quickly settled into their new home. The animals lived in harmony for over forty years.
In 2000, the humans finally surveyed the land mass. Somehow, their scientists had overlooked this land, and their ship routes had mysteriously passed it by. A horde of humans flooded the continent, sticking their noses in where the wolves believed they didn't belong. Mankind attacked them, slaughtering all the wolves in sight and burning large areas of the island. Finally, accepting that this place was not fit for human life after their tyrade, the scientists left, deeming the land uninhabitable.
Wolves that had hidden from the human's flames and the merciless weapons slowly began to emerge from their hiding places. Over the next eight years, the plant life gradually grew back. Now, the wolves needed to figure out a way to survive with many of their resources exhausted...

Up high above the rest of the lands, the Kinath bears snow-capped mountains and dangerous, slippery paths. This mountain range divides the sandy lands from the plains, and precipitation is very high. Snow remains on the tips around the caves year round, and snowy animals love the cold, nippy air. Evergreens are the only trees on these mountains, but large boulders keep erosion from getting out of hand. Few animals survive, but the ones who do thrive.
Feeding the Aughgar River, Nyspoli's Pool is fed by an underground river that bubbles through the rocks at the base. The water is clear, fresh, and cold. This pool is about twenty feet deep, and the largest fish rest near the bottom. The edge of this lake has beach sand and large oak trees that provide shade. Erosion leaves roots exposed in many places around the water where animals can hide, whether they are hunting or just needing to escape.
The pride of the continent, Zaor Forest covers a vast portion of the eastern territory. There are various coniferous and deciduous trees, including pines, oaks, evergreens, and maples. This forest shelters a large variety of prey, and it is near Nyspoli's Pool, meaning that animals typically stick around for a while. The ground is always damp, and the shady trees make any trips through pleasant and enjoyable.
Splitting the lands into seperate halves, the Aughgar River is rough and wide. Jagged rocks and brush protrude in various places, and rapids are likely to snatch the unsuspecting wolf who decides to take a swim. There are no calm spots in the river, but near the edge, fishing is superb. This river feeds into the small gulf formed by the fold of the land. Any wolf that survives its way down the river will most likely be swept far out to sea when they reach the end.

On the coast of the land mass, one peak towers above the rest. Pievunt-An is a dormant volcano; the original source of Anikira. Volcanic ash and lava piled up over hundreds of years around this volcano, building up the land. This volcano now appears to be extinct, and it is not likely to erupt. Trees and other plant life grow on the sloped ground, and animals feel no threat from nature’s most dangerous enemy.
Covering about one fourth of the continent of Anikira, the Sands of Rodorr are home to much life, despite the high temperatures. Snakes, coyotes, birds of prey, and many varieties of bugs find a home in this rough environment. The Sands are desert-like for most of the year, but during the winter and spring, huge rainstorms bring the area to life. It is common for plant life to appear for a few months, then shrivel back into the ground once summer arrives.

A mysterious fog constantly hangs over this partially dead forest. Taken in by the flames of the humans, many trees still stand barren and charred. The only animals that feel comfortable here are bats and other dark animals. Hunting is rough but manageable. Around every tree, large, eerie rock formations cast daunting shadows and spooky shapes. These woods seem to have an unnerving presence in them. The spirits of wolves killed by the human’s rampage remain, unable to rest, in this wooded area.
Hidden deep within Lleingas Woods, a spooky lake, shrouded in a healthy constant mist, seems to have no bottom. The water is a grayish tint, and the only color within is the reflection of the trees. Animals that attempt to swim to the bottom have died in their attempts, as the lake is over two hundred feet deep. It feeds the Aughgar River of the Occasus, yet very few animals trust to approach it. A strange, random piece of earth rests in the center of this enormous lake. Dead trees and shriveled bushes complete the eerie feel of this miniature land mass.
One of the only un-clouded areas of the territory, Ryn-Eldbel was formed as a result of the blasts humans detonated. Rough, jagged rocks rest near the bottom while the top is smooth and inhabitable. Large prey sometimes venture to the summit to graze on the tuffs of grass. One misplaced blast by mankind resulted in the collapse of the outer rock, leaving an entrance to a mine that had been abandoned when the humans evacuated the area. Old mine carts and train tracks wind through various tunnels beneath the plateau.
One of the areas of the continent left in ruins from the humans, the former Boryz Forest is now a tattered piece of land. Jagged cracks run in every direction, shifted under the impact of explosions. This area was used to test nuclear weapons and deadly bombs. Everything is coated in thick ash, and one misplaced bomb broke into an underground cavern. The beginning of tree sprouts and flower bulbs have started to emerge in the past years, but the land is still too sickly to survive.
A once beautiful utopia has been destroyed. Tainted by years of testing by the humans, these hot springs now bubble a sickly, yellow-orange liquid. The toxic waste from their experiments was carelessly dumped into the waters. Noxious fumes engulf the surrounding plants, and animals cannot survive long near the waters. The waters burn anything that touch them; they can only be neutralized by certain chemicals.
As the scientists abandoned the island, they left behind a post. The stone buildings were knocked to pieces as an attempt to hide their appearance on the island. A few stone buildings are left. Many of the wooden buildings were burned by uncontrollable wildfires, but the untouched buildings contain useful materials, including blankets and medicines. Ash and soot fill the air and coat the buildings.
Central to the continent, the Chamoru Plains is a vast, seemingly endless grassland that is open to all. Far away from the once active volcano and sheltered by the Kinath to the west, these grasslands are pure and fresh. Wildflowers bloom during the spring and early summer. This area is a home of larger prey, such as bison, elk, and deer, as well as one of the nicest areas on the continent. Occasional savannah-style trees dot the land.
Running along the majority of the coast, Endyt Beach is a mixture of dirty sand and pure white sand. Brush and plant life sprout up along the water line, but the access is easy by nearly any area of the continent. The southern coast along the gulf is a common retreat spot for wolves. The sand is soft and warm, heated by all day sun exposure.
Fresh heat rises from this newly laid lava. This chunk of land rests in the previously water-filled area surrounded by the beach. This land has been designated as a recruitment terra. Wolves must howl here or on the edge of a pack's territory; otherwise, the alphas reserve the right to attack.
